William Broverman is a versatile low brass musician and music educator based in Metro Vancouver. He performs regularly with leading ensembles including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Opera Orchestra, and the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and is active across diverse music scenes.

Will is the bass trombonist of the Vancouver Legacy Jazz Orchestra, and a regular guest with ensembles such as the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra, Jill Townsend Jazz Orchestra, Hard Rubber Orchestra, West Coast Big Band, and the La Clave Orchestra. He has performed with renowned artists such as Natalia Lafourcade, Il Divo, and Steven Page.

From 2016 to 2020, Will served as Principal Bass Trombone of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán. He has also performed with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Canada West Chamber Orchestra, and the National Academy Orchestra of Canada.

As an educator, Will conducts the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra’s Junior Winds division and coaches brass for the Surrey Youth Orchestra. He maintains large studios at the Vancouver Academy of Music and the Langley Community Music School, and appears regularly as a clinician in elementary and high schools throughout the region. His international teaching experience includes faculty appointments at the Merida International Brass Festival and a guest professorship at the Conservatorio Plurinacional in La Paz, Bolivia.

Will holds a bachelor of music from McGill University. In 2021, he was named one of CBC’s “30 Hot Classical Musicians Under 30,” becoming the first bass trombonist to receive the distinction. That same year, he was invited to speak at TEDxYouth @ Dow’s Lake as a young leader in Canada’s classical music scene.
